Laboratory Safety

SRC Geoanalytical Laboratories is dedicated to providing a safe working environment for all personnel at its facilities. As with many laboratories, there are hazards posing potential health and safety risks. Geoanalytical Laboratories’ personnel receive extensive safety training to help them to identify these risks and to protect them in the workplace.

On-Site Training

On-site training will be provided to all visitors to ensure awareness of the hazards associated with individual processing areas. If required, on-site training in WHMIS can be provided. Personnel Protection Equipment is provided for all personnel working or visiting the laboratories.

Radiation Safety

Geoanalytical Laboratories is licensed by the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC). All personnel working with radioactive materials are required to take additional radiation training and to wear a thermoluminescent dosimeter when working in these areas. Personnel working with radioactive materials are also classified as Nuclear Energy Workers.
