SRC Environmental Analytical Laboratories’ Aquatic Toxicology Laboratory provides both industry and government with qualitative and quantitative data on the adverse effects of industrial effluents, municipal wastewater discharges and/ or chemical products on aquatic organisms.
Tests include standardized acute lethality and sublethal toxicity tests for freshwater species. These tests measure endpoints such as survival, growth and reproduction on ecologically relevant aquatic organisms at various concentrations.
SRC Environmental Analytical Laboratories is accredited by the Canadian Association for Laboratory Accreditation (CALA) in accordance with the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standard for numerous tests, including the acute lethality toxicity test.
SRC's Aquatic Toxicology Laboratory is integrated with SRC's renowned chemistry laboratory, providing a complete array of laboratory services in one location. SRC is also one of the few labs licensed to accept effluents containing radioactive wastes.
