Safety: An Integral Part of all Tasks

Safety must be an integral part of all tasks in every job.  As such, SRC has undertaken a number of initiatives to ensure safety is integrated into all aspects of its operations.  Some examples of these initiatives include:

  • Hazard assessment conducted for all tasks
  • Safe Work Procedures (SWPs) developed based on hazard assessments
  • Development and communication of safety strategy
  • Safety resources easily accessible to employees via intraweb
  • Stretch breaks implemented in several areas
  • Preventative maintenance schedules implemented
  • Safety audits
  • Incident reporting/investigation
  • Emergency/disaster recovery plan
  • Workstation ergonomics assessments
  • Annual indoor air quality assessment program
  • Return to work program
  • Safety orientations for employees, clients, students, and some visitors
  • Specific budget allocation for safety program and initiatives
  • Three active safety committees
  • Required safety training for all employees
  • Active contractor safety program
  • Pre-hire, pre-placement, pre-promotion screening
  • Employee concern/feed-back communication systems
