Performance Measures

SRC's Safety Program places a strong focus on leading indicators.  Leading indicators represent pro-active activities that can help ensure an Occupational Health and Safety management system is operating effectively, before experiencing incidents, injuries, or other loss-producing events. Ideal leading indicators are also quantifiable, so that progress toward safety objectives can be tracked, managed, compared against external benchmarks, and audited.

Some Leading Indicators

  • Employee participation in safety meetings
  • Individual safety objectives
  • Recognition of safety commitment and/or behaviours
  • Safety promotional material circulated
  • Employees attending safety training
  • Ergonomic and musculoskeletal/repetitive strain injury assessments conducted and prevention training delivered
  • Near miss reporting and investigations result in preventive and corrective actions

"Safety and Occupational Health are the overriding priorities for SRC."
