Dr. Peta Bonham-Smith is a Professor in the Department of Biology at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon. She specializes in the molecular biology of plants and plant development and is a former Director of the Virtual College of Biotechnology. She is the recipient of a YWCA Women of Distinction Award; the Teaching Excellence Award, Division of Science, U of S; and a USSU Teaching Excellence Award.

Trained as a chemical engineer, John Cross was a founding partner, and later President, CEO, and Chairman, of Philom Bios Inc. Philom Bios, now Novozymes, develops, manufactures, and markets inoculants which enhance fertility efficiency of crops. Philom Bios has been the recipient of several awards, such as one of the "50 Best Managed Companies" in Canada in 2005 and 2006. John has also received numerous awards, including Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year, Prairie Region, in Science and Technology in 1995, and in the Health Science category in 2004. A former Chair of the Saskatchewan Research Council, he serves as a Board member of the Royal University Hospital Foundation, the POS Pilot Plant Corporation Inc., and is the Board Chair of the Saskatoon & Regional Economic Development Authority.

Shelley Lipon, FCA, lives in Regina and is the Executive Regional Director for the Midwest/Northern Region, Canada Health Infoway. Previous positions include CFO, and then CEO, of the Saskatchewan Health Information Network and Principal with the Office of the Saskatchewan Provincial Auditor. Her experience includes senior management, finance, audit, information technology, communication, strategic planning and health information systems.

Craig Zawada, Chair, is Managing Director of WMCZ Lawyers-Mediators in Saskatoon. He has been involved with a broad range of intellectual property issues, including IT, biotech and commercialization of knowledge-based property. He continues to participate in many professional, business and community organizations on a local and national level.
