Overview
To ensure a safe working environment, SRC Geoanalytical Laboratories is dedicated to providing a safe working environment for all personnel at its facilities. As with many laboratories there are many hazards that pose as potential health and safety risk. Geoanalytical personnel receive extensive safety training to help them to identify these risks and to protect them in the workplace.
On-Site Training
On-site training will be provided to all visitors to our facility to ensure that you are aware of the hazards associated with individual processing areas. If required, on-site training in WHMIS can be provided. Personnel Protect Equipment (PPE) is provided for all personnel working or visiting the laboratories.
Radiation Safety
The laboratory is licensed by the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC): license # 01784-1-07.5 All personnel working with radioactive materials are required to take additional radiation training and to wear a thermoluminescent dosimeter when working in these areas. Personnel working with radioactive materials are also classified as Nuclear Energy Workers (NEW).
Safety Newsletters
The laboratory also ensures that Important safety news is communicated through a monthly safety newsletter.
